Dragon Fruit farming

 Dragon fruit cultivation is currently increasing in Tamil Nadu.  The reason is the perception of dragon fruit among people.  There are many varieties of dragon fruit which are very profitable.  Especially Morocco', Jam Red, Taiwan Pink, Jumbo etc.

 

 Soil:

 Can grow in all soils except clay.  Water should not stagnate.

 Climate :

 Can grow in any season and climate.

 

 Planting:

 500 per acre at 10 × 8 spacing. Pillars should be planted.  2000 plants per acre at 4 plants per pole.

 

 Water:

 Dragon fruit needs very little water, water up to four times a week up to six months. Drip water is ideal.

 

 Harvesting:

 Harvesting starts after 14 months from planting.  One ton per acre in first year.  8 to 10 tons are available in 2nd and 3rd year.

 

 Cost of planting:

 A pillar set and four plants, planting the pillar, adding soil to the pillar, planting the plant, fertilizer for the plant all together will cost ₹1150 per pillar.  If you buy a drip pipe, we will install it for free.

  Sales:

 You can sell it in your nearest market or you can do it in a big market, if you tell the traders they will take it directly from the garden. We will plant and do it.
